Everything Candle Wicks
There are different sizes of candle wicks available for use in candle making. The size of the wick you choose will depend on the size and type of candle you are making, as well as the type of wax you are using.
Here are some common sizes of candle wicks:
Extra small (6-10mm) - These wicks are typically used in votive candles or tea lights, as well as in small containers or tins.
Small (10-15mm) - These wicks are suitable for use in small to medium containers or tins, as well as in pillar candles.
Medium (15-20mm) - These wicks are suitable for use in medium to large containers or tins, as well as in jar candles.
Large (20-30mm) - These wicks are suitable for use in large containers or tins, as well as in jar candles or pillars. My favorite are the ECO 14 for 8oz mason jars.
It is important to choose the right size wick for your candle to ensure that it burns properly and evenly. If the wick is too small, the candle may not burn completely or may burn unevenly.
If the wick is too large, the candle may burn too quickly or may produce excess soot.
It is also important to note that the size of the wick may need to be adjusted based on the type of wax you are using, as some waxes may require a smaller or larger wick to burn properly.
It is always a good idea to test different wick sizes to see which works best for your particular candle.
