Candle sinkholes, also known as "tunneling," occur when a candle burns unevenly, creating a hole down the center of the wax. This not only affects the appearance of the candle, but it can also cause the candle to burn more quickly and unevenly. If you've encountered this problem, don't worry - there are a few easy steps you can take to fix candle sinkholes and get your candle burning evenly again.

Step 1: Trim the Wick Before lighting your candle again, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch in length. This will prevent the wick from becoming too long, which can cause the wax to melt unevenly and create a sinkhole.

Step 2: Melt the Wax Light the candle and let it burn for about 15 minutes, or until the wax around the edges of the sinkhole starts to melt. Once the wax is melted, use a spoon or spatula to carefully spread the wax over the sinkhole, smoothing out the surface of the candle.

Step 3: Allow the Wax to Cool and Solidify Once you've smoothed out the wax, blow out the candle and allow the wax to cool and solidify. This will help to hold the newly melted wax in place and prevent the sinkhole from reopening.

Step 4: Repeat as Needed As you continue to burn the candle, you may find that the sinkhole starts to reappear. If this happens, simply repeat steps 2 and 3 to fix the sinkhole.

Step 5: Another option is to purchase a Candle Lamp and place the candle under the lamp. This works great as it will give you the same great scent throw as burning it! There are many different beautiful styles and one great thing is there is no concern for a fire which makes these great to use.

By following these simple steps, you'll be able to fix candle sinkholes and ensure that your candle burns evenly and efficiently. Remember, always take precautions when working with open flames. Keep the candle away from flammable materials, never leave it unattended, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Note: A way to avoid this happening is making sure you are not burning the candle for long time period of time. Candle should be burned for no longer than 4 hours and you should let it cool before relighting. Also ensure you’re not burning the candle in a drafty area, which can cause uneven burning and sinking.
